The next big shift in tech is already happening
Quantum computing is moving faster than most timelines predicted. Governments and vendors have marked 2026 as the point where preparation must begin. Most professionals have not heard this. Even fewer understand what it means for their career.
If you understand the transition early you will have an advantage over most of the industry.
This briefing explains the shift and why it matters for your future in tech.
Why this matters for your career
Quantum will change how systems are secured, how data is protected, and how companies design every technical layer they rely on.
It will affect software engineering, cloud computing, data roles, AI teams, product teams, enterprise platforms, infrastructure, and security.
No area of tech escapes this shift.
And here’s the part most people don’t realize:
❌ 95% of organizations have no quantum roadmap
❌ 61% have not mapped where their cryptography lives
❌ Less than 3% of tech professionals have any post-quantum literacy
✅ Only about 1% can identify cryptographic dependencies in their own systems
In other words:
almost no one in tech understands what is coming or how to prepare for it.
Most companies do not know where their cryptography is used.
Most teams do not understand how quantum affects their tools.
Most professionals will be forced into reactive learning once the transition is already underway.
The people who start now will stand out.
The people who wait will fall behind.

About
ADDIE LaMARR
I’ve spent the last 15 years in cybersecurity, including 8 years as a U.S. Air Force cryptographer and several years contributing to federal cybersecurity policy work aligned with NIST. That experience gave me a front-row seat to how our cryptographic systems actually work, how governments plan for risk, and how unprepared most of the world really is for the quantum shift.
For more than a decade, I’ve been obsessed with quantum computing, cryptography, and the transition that is about to reshape every technical ecosystem we rely on.
My mission now is simple:
protect the world’s data and prepare the people who want to stay ahead of this shift, so they can build wealth, gain influence, and avoid what happened when AI blindsided everyone.
I translate complex quantum concepts into clear, practical guidance for professionals who want to move early, become part of the 1% who understand what is coming, and position themselves for the career advantage that quantum is about to create.
If AI rewrote job descriptions, quantum will rewrite the foundation those jobs run on.
And I’m here to make sure you are ready before anyone else.
